The Reality
Every year, hundreds of qualified doctors compete for a limited number of GP training places — and your selection score is what separates you from your first-choice scheme. Yet most prepare with scattered, second-hand resources and no way to know if any of it is working.
Scarcity is the reality. Preparation is the answer.Focus Where It Matters
Whether you have 2 months or 6, the ICGP selection score is weighted the same. Spend your hours where the marks are.
For every 10 hours of study, here's where they should go
Most candidates over-study clinical questions and under-prepare the SJT. Don't make that mistake.
One of the two biggest levers in your selection score, and the one most candidates underprepare for. Master the principles, practise the scenarios, understand the logic behind every ranking. This is where GP Journey starts.
The largest single factor in your selection score. Makes or breaks your scheme placement, only for those who pass SJT in November. Structured prep, interview methods, roleplay scenarios, and a live simulator to build exam-ready confidence.
Lower weighting, but a missed opportunity if neglected. 500+ questions with detailed explanations for every option. Build clinical confidence systematically.
